Immigration Benefits for Chilean Nationals

Given the recent earthquake in Chile, USCIS instituted certain temoporary relief measures for Chilean nationals:

1)the granting of extensions or change of nonimmigrant status applications even in cases where the applicant has overstayed his/her visa,
2)expedited processing of advanced parole applications/extensions,
3)expedited processing of student request for off-campus work authorization based on economic hardship,
4)expedited processing of family-based immigrant petitions for immediate relatives,
5)expedited approval of EAD requests where appropriate, and
6)assistance to LPRs stranded oversees without documents.

  2. Chileans can apply is the normal way, but point out that they are Chilean in the cover letter.
