DREAM Act Much Closer to Reality

Last night the Dream Act finally passed in the House by a vote of 216 to 198.  The Senate will vote on the law today.  If the Dream Act becomes law, it will provide a way for certain young undocumented aliens to become lawful permanent residients.  They will be eligible if they were brought to the US as children, complete high school, demonstrate good moral character, and complete at least two years of higher education or serve for at least two years in the US military.  My article in ILW.com includes a story of a young person who will benefit.  Please call your Senator and urge passage ASAP.
